January 23, 2012 - The 12 Miles South Coalition is being re-organized to respond to the Mississippi Development Authority's current plan to proceed with surveying and leasing for drilling in Mississippi waters.

The information you see here is a combination of current information and information from the previous attempt at drilling in 2005. We're updating the website as quickly as possible. The 2005 information is useful since the essential issues remain the same.

Sun Herald, July 17, 2005 - They did WHAT?

Read Karen Nelson's article in the Sun Herald.

"Six blocks of federal water in the Gulf closest to the barrier islands have been leased to an oil and gas company.
